Freckleton Half Marathon Entry Terms and Conditions
Organised by Fylde Coast Runners on behalf of the Freckleton Club Day Sports Committee
By entering the Freckleton Half Marathon, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:
1. Eligibility
1.1 Participants must be at least 17 years of age on race day, in accordance with UK Athletics (UKA) rules.
1.2 Entry is open to runners of all abilities, but participants should ensure they are medically fit to complete the 13.1-mile course.
2. Registration and Fees
2.1 All entries must be completed through the official registration system before the closing date.
2.2 Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, except under the provisions outlined in Section 6.
2.3 Participants are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their entry details. Corrections must be submitted in writing prior to the deadline for amendments.
3. Race Day Requirements
3.1 All participants must wear their allocated race number clearly visible on the front of their clothing throughout the race.
3.2 Timing chips must be used as instructed for accurate results.
3.3 Headphones are not permitted during the race, except bone-conduction devices, as per UKA rules. This is to ensure runner safety and awareness of marshals' instructions.
4. Safety and Conduct
4.1 Participants must follow the instructions of race officials, marshals, and emergency personnel at all times.
4.2 The use of personal support vehicles, bicycles, or pacers is strictly prohibited.
4.3 Any participant who fails to complete the full race course or comply with event rules may be disqualified.
5. Medical and Liability Waiver
5.1 By entering the event, participants confirm they are medically fit to participate and do so at their own risk.
5.2 Fylde Coast Runners, the Freckleton Club Day Sports Committee, and associated parties accept no liability for personal injury, illness, or property loss during the event unless caused by negligence.
5.3 Medical support will be available on the course and at the finish line; participants must notify officials immediately if assistance is needed.
6. Cancellations and Amendments
6.1 In the event of cancellation due to circumstances beyond the organiser's control (e.g., extreme weather, public health issues), no refunds will be issued.
6.2 In such cases, the organisers will endeavor to offer a deferral to a future event or an alternative arrangement where possible.
6.3 Transfers of entries to another participant are only permitted with prior approval from the organizers and must be arranged no later than 7 days before race day.
7. Results and Prizes
7.1 Official results will be published on the event website and social media channels following the race.
7.2 Prize winners must be present at the award ceremony or make prior arrangements to receive their prizes.
8. Data Protection
8.1 By entering, participants consent to the collection, storage, and processing of their personal data for race administration purposes.
8.2 Photographs and videos taken during the event may be used for promotional purposes. Participants who wish to opt out must notify the organisers in advance.
9. Code of Conduct
9.1 Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner toward fellow runners, spectators, volunteers, and event staff.
9.2 The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any participant for unsportsmanlike conduct, rule violations, or actions deemed unsafe.
